Been busy lately making a few more diapers and covers. First up are some comfy covers. I love love love how easy they are to make up. They are a great use for my misc. fleece chunks. I can't wait to try these on our new son when he arrives. 2 size nb and 3 size m. All have pul with polar fleece and cute diva made tags.
These are medium trimsies. This was a pattern that I finally broke down and bought. I've heard such wonderful things about this pattern and it's overall fit. I think I have a pattern addiction. I love the way these went together and I think they will be a daddy and grandma favorite. They all have PUL outers with cute flannel added to two of them. One has aplix closing (love this style) and the others have the snaps. I did an alteration to the soakers inside and made them all one piece that I sewed down in the front of the diaper. Insides are either flannel or birdseye or a mixture of both. I'm hoping these are as awesome as they look. I plan to make many more.
Here's a Sprout Snap Experiment. I made this one as a cover that I could tuck a prefold or flat into. I actually really like how it turned out. Next time I'll make the front interior flap part shorter. PUL & flannel outer with alova suede cloth inner with FOE.
Last are some preemie prefolds I made just in case. (my midwife thinks he will come between 34 and 37 weeks) I winged these and used measurements from prefold websites. I used birdseye for these. (I think it was called "diaper fabric" at JoAnnes. They are shown with a nb sposie, vb nb fitted, and preemie little starter? cover.

Hi,
I just came across your Sprout snap diaper experiment. It turned out really cute! I like to know how the fit worked out for your baby? Did you used some tutorial to make it? I'm expecting in a few weeks. Thanks!
Hi Suet! Congratz on your soon to be babe. It worked out pretty good. The fit of the sprout snap is nice. Next time I would do two rows of snaps and I would maybe use either FOE across the back or just some elastic. (inside back part I mean) Only because it's kind of flappy... I didn't follow a tutorial, but there is a forum called "Diaper Sewing Divas" and it's a great diaper sewing information forum. It's where I got all my inspiration and help from when I got started. Plus, they have amazing eye candy... there are some really talented seamstresses there.
Thanks! I will give it a try!
Hi,
I am due in December. I want to sew my own stash. What is your current cloth diapering stash? Can you give a review of your favorite homemade diapers and which patterns!!! Thanks!!! You have really inspired me. Unfortunately, I can no longer find the thread for the sprout snap pattern :( But your diapers look wonderful!!! I am thinking of snapping in the soaker instead of the flaps. But, I do want to make some flaps of cotton, so the pul does not touch the baby! Let me know what you think!!!! Thanks
innovativetwenties: Thanks so much for your comment. I've just posted about my current favorite diaper pattern. Hopefully that will help some. I am now snapping in all my soakers. I love this because I can easily strip just the soakers if they get skunky or amonia smelling. To find the sprout snap pattern, just type in "sprout snap pattern" into a google search and it's the first one that pops up. It's a pdf file. Also, you should check out Diaper Sewing Divas Forum if you haven't already. There is a world of info there and the ladies are truly amazing.
